Fountain Hills Peach Market begins Aug. 24

Fourth annual market brings fresh fruit from Utah

Posted

The fourth annual Fountain Hills Peach Market opens at the Fountain Hills Tractor Supply Company from 8 to 11:30 a.m. for six consecutive Saturdays in the fall, beginning Aug. 24 and ending Sept. 28.

The peaches are brought in from Mountain Farms in Utah, according to Lead Organizer Betsy Hess, who met peach Farmer Yvonne Turley (also known as “AZ Fruit Lady”) over four years ago in Mesa.

Turley’s husband Val and daughter Chelsey help her with weekly semi-truck loads of fruits and vegetables that get delivered into Mesa and distributed all over the Valley.

Mountain Farms will bring tomatoes, nectarines and pears along with different varieties of peaches each week.

The Peach Market will also have food trucks for breakfast and lunch, including Batchelor’s Pad BBQ, Cuties Lemonade, Kona Ice, Kade’s Deja Brew and others.

Other vendors present at the Peach Market include Black Orchard Farms, Prickly Pear Teas, Sonoran Sippy Crumbs, Mane-Alan Kitchen and the Tamale Store.

Other vendors include Noble Bread (pre-orders taken up to noon on Thursdays before the market at 480-227-6113) Lumpia Queen of AZ, P39 CBD, Sahara Turkish Coffee, Buenos Aires Empanadas and Paws Choose Us.

For a full list of vendors every week of the market, visit the Fountain Hills Farmers Market Facebook page.

Fountain Hills High School Falcon football players will be on hand weekly at the market to help customers carry heavy bags to their cars. All tips will go toward fundraising for the team. Live music is available weekly.

Children’s Entrepreneur Market

The fifth Saturday, Sept. 21, will feature the Children’s Entrepreneur Market where “kidpreneurs” ages five through 16 will sell goods that have either been made by hand or collected.

There will be about 40 booths of children selling their crafts, food, art and games. Parents will be present but the kids sell their goods themselves.

For children who are interested in participating, Hess directs families to register online at childrensensentrepreneurmarket.com.

So far there are over 10 local Fountain Hills families that will participate Saturday, Sept. 21.

Market shoppers are encouraged to bring their own recyclable bags to use and any unused plastic grocery bags can be donated to the Peach Market or Noble Bread tent.

If the Tractor Supply parking lot is full, additional parking is available across the street off Monterey Drive.

There is one main entrance to the market and the exit is closest to the store.

Tractor Supply Company is located at 17130 E. Shea Blvd.
