The Fountain Hills Pickleball Club paid the Fountain Hills Unified School District $33,000 for its annual lease to use pickleball courts on district property.
The lease fee, presented to the governing board Aug. 5, helps support Fountain Hills University, a program at Fountain Hills High School that allows students to earn college credit through Arizona State University at no cost to participating students.
The program is funded through community support, with contributions such as the pickleball club’s lease helping make the opportunity available to students.
