Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning reviews zoning ordinance updates

Creates more organization, understanding

The Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission discussed an update to the town zoning ordinance to adjust permitted uses and create better organization during its meeting on Monday, Jan. 12.

Town Development Services Director John Wesley explained how he would restructure existing ordinance chapters to flow in a more organized way. Wesley also proposed a “Uses vs. Use Categories” table for better understanding of zoning.

The simple table lists the use categories, shows what the zoning district allows and provides references to associated standards or requirements. Another proposed change was footnotes in land use categories and zoning requirements.
