Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church will again this summer participate in the Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Code Red program as a location where people can drop off donations of bottled water.

During June, July and August, donations can be dropped off at the church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and on Sunday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The water is distributed to people living on the streets or in need across the Valley to help them through the hot summer months.

For those who find it a challenge to haul bulky cases of bottled water, there is an option for them to participate in this charitable project. During the month of June, a generous benefactor has pledged to triple match every monetary donation to the program, up to $150,000.

Also, Phoenix Rescue Mission has partnerships such as Costco where they can purchase pallets of water at a greater discount than the general public allowing the monetary donations to go further.

This allows for every $1 donated to provide three times the life sustaining water, “Hope Tote” hygiene kits, heat relief and care for neighbors in need.
