PTO Co-President Robin Bratcher said she is excited to host the second annual Feathers & Flapjacks 5K & Fun Run next February.
She organized the first ever PTO 5K last year, and she and fellow Co-President Kim Duckworth have come up with fresh ideas to help improve the fundraiser.
The PTO has worked to get a two-year permit that will allow the 5K to partially take place on the state land and desert vistas behind McDowell Mountain Elementary School (MMES). Last year, the 5K participants ran around Fountain Hills High School, but the flapjack breakfast was served in the high school cafeteria, way up the hill from the starting and finishing lines.
