The Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission approved by a vote of 5-1 a special use permit relating to the proposed Dairy Queen Grill & Chill during its meeting on Monday, Nov. 10.
The special use permit asked for the removal of up to nine parking spaces directly south of the building on Palisades and Sagauro Boulevards for an expanded drive-through lane. There are currently 41 parking spaces available, and 41 will be required by the zoning ordinance.
Dairy Queen is projecting the use of 16 spaces.
