Several unnamed Fountain Hills residents were awarded grants from the Fountain Hills Community Tax Credit Foundation (FHCTCF) in 2023 to assist in the payment of rent, utilities, food and medical expenses, according to a press release.
The funds were raised by Arizona residents who opted to divert their state tax obligation to the FHCTCF, the release said.
Examples of individuals receiving FHCTCF grants include a long-time resident of Fountain Hills who requested $1,000 to assist in paying for his cancer medication and a recently divorced mother of two children who requested $1,000 to help pay for rent, utilities and children’s needs, according to the press release.

Several unnamed Fountain Hills residents were awarded grants from the Fountain Hills Community Tax Credit Foundation (FHCTCF) in 2023 to assist in the payment of rent, utilities, food and medical expenses, according to a press release.
The funds were raised by Arizona residents who opted to divert their state tax obligation to the FHCTCF, the release said.
Examples of individuals receiving FHCTCF grants include a long-time resident of Fountain Hills who requested $1,000 to assist in paying for his cancer medication and a recently divorced mother of two children who requested $1,000 to help pay for rent, utilities and children’s needs, according to the press release.
Another unnamed long-time resident of Fountain Hills with a debilitating disease requested $1,000 to assist in paying for medications and a fourth individual requested $1,000 to help with rent and medical expenses. According to the press release, they were recently hospitalized for a chronic illness and cares for their chronically ill 25-year-old daughter.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Fountain Hills is estimated to have more than 1,300 people living under the poverty limit ($27,500 for a family of four), the release added.
The FHCTCF is a qualified charitable organization (QCO) that was established to serve Fountain Hills community members who meet low-income guidelines established by the Federal Government and State of Arizona.
For Fountain Hills residents who pay Arizona taxes, $421 for individual returns or $841 for joint returns can be diverted to help local needy individuals, the release added.
Individuals interested in donating to the FHCTCF can mail their contribution to the Fountain Hills Community Tax Credit Foundation at P.O. Box 20104, Fountain Hills, AZ, 85269. Contributions should include the AZDOR notation, “QCO CODE 22465.”
