The Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board approved a schedule change 5-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The board also provided more feedback for Superintendent Dr. Cain Jagodzinski to update his goals for 2023-24 and bring them back for a vote on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
The high school no longer needs half days on the last two days of each trimester since class periods were lengthened to 70 minutes from 55 minutes ahead of the school year. Due to a misstep by the calendar committee, those half days put seniors in jeopardy of falling below the required amount of instructional hours, but the issue was addressed in time.
