Fountain Hills school board approves security camera upgrade

Grant will cover 75% of expense

The Fountain Hills Unified School District (FHUSD) Governing Board approved a purchase of over $100k for Verkada cameras through Logicalis with a 3-1 vote at the business meeting on Wednesday, April 17.

FHUSD is one of five school districts in Arizona to receive the federal school safety grant, and four of the five schools used the grant money to upgrade their school security with Verkada cameras, according to one Logicalis representative at the board meeting.

One of the first things Dr. Cain Jagodzinski did as FHUSD superintendent was add security officers to each FHUSD campus, and Jagodzinski has emphasized school safety upgrades since he started in July 2022.
