Fountain Hills school board hears about new ‘Wonders’ curriculum

While the Fountain Hills Unified Governing Board still has to take formal action to approve a new reading curriculum, a lot of the analysis and other preparation is done.

A great deal of that work was presented April 8 at the board’s regular meeting. McDowell Mountain Elementary School Principal Valerie Reichler and a team of teachers and others spoke about why a McGraw Hill curriculum package and five-year license called Wonders is the team’s recommended choice for the K-5 school.

Wonders would be used for the next five school years at a one-time cost of about $100,000 to the district, should the board approve it this summer.
