Fountain Hills school board waives fees for 2 resigning staff

Two Fountain Hills Unified School District staff members turned in resignations just as the school year began, which sparked a lively conversation about whether a particular severance policy should even be on the books.

The FHUSD board voted at its Aug. 20 meeting to waive “liquidated damages” fees for both Amanda Baca and Lisa Schreiner.

The board voted, 4-1, to waive the $3,000 fee for Baca, but 5-0 to waive the same fee for Schreiner.
