The Fountain Hills High School wrestling team finished fourth out of 12 teams at the Division IV Central sectionals Saturday, Feb. 10.
The Falcons traveled through a snowstorm to reach sectionals, and five of the 12 Fountain Hills wrestlers qualified for the state championship tournament. The Division IV state tournament begins at 8:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 16, at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 1826 W. McDowell Rd.
Seniors Tyler Flynn, Tyler Langer and Lucas Phillips will return to the state championship. Flynn placed fourth at state the past two years and sophomore Tyler Trapani qualified for the first time in his career. First-year wrestler senior Nate Barnard will also make his first state appearance.
