The chair of Fountain Hills Sister Cities Ataco helped distribute food to the elderly in Ataco, El Salvador.
Chair Byron Roman stopped in the city during his travels to Guatemala for a family visit, according to a press release. During his time in Ataco, he met with former mayor Oscar Gomez, a longtime local partner and supporter of the Sister City relationship.
While in Ataco, Roman assisted with the distribution of 280 food packages to elderly residents as part of the food drive sponsored by FHSC. Each package had essential staples intended to provide two weeks of support.
