Down 18-14 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Fountain Hills High School softball team had work to do.
The two most experienced Falcons, senior Hailey Chandler and junior Sammantha Hughes, hit a single and double and combined for three RBIs in the inning to make it 18-17. Junior Caroline Hales hit a single to get on base, and sophomore Zoe Jagodzinski went up to bat with the bases loaded.
Hughes stole home on a wild pitch and tied the game. Jagodzinski, who joined the team after the season started, singled on a ground ball and sealed the Falcon’s first win of the season.
