Fountain Hills thrift shop engages public in community art piece

Elite Repeat creates public art in action

When Linda Berna and Crystal Quiring reopened their boutique thrift shop, Elite Repeat, on Saguaro Boulevard, they wanted to do more than just sell secondhand treasures — they wanted to give back and thank the community that helps make it all possible.

Elite Repeat is a nonprofit resale boutique offering gently used clothing, shoes, furniture, home décor and artwork. All proceeds support local organizations like the Extended Hands Food Bank, Fountain Hills Sister Cities and the Fountain Hills Unified School District.

To celebrate the community’s role in that mission, Berna, a lifelong artist and former recycled art contest winner, came up with an idea: a collaborative artwork that customers could help create.
