Fountain Hills to initiate Downtown Facade Improvement Program

Approved after two motions

In efforts to maintain a visually attractive downtown district and goals of enticing more business, the Fountain Hills Town Council unanimously voted to initiate a downtown facade improvement program during its Feb. 17 meeting.

The passing motion came with an amendment, which would exclude chapter 5.7 that encourages energy efficiencies for applicants.

A motion to approve as written was initially denied 5-2 with Mayor Gerry Friedel, Vice Mayor Allen Skillicorn and Councilmembers Rick Watts, Gayle Earle and Hannah Larrabee voting no.
