Fountain Hills Town Council approves agreement with Gilbert

For Fountain Hills Fire Department training

Fountain Hills Town Council has given unanimous approval for an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Town of Gilbert Fire and Medical Department for use of training facilities and programs.

Fountain Hills Fire Chief Dave Ott told the council that consistent fire suppression and EMS training with regional partners is necessary for effective operation. He said Gilbert’s training facility is newer and offers state-of-the art training.

According to Ott, training may include, but is not limited to, live fire scenarios, hazardous materials and technical rescue operations, regional fire academies and medic schools. Cost will vary depending on the program offered and materials needed.
