The Fountain Hills Town Council voted unanimously to greenlight two special use permits pertaining to fill waivers on separate properties during its Jan. 20 meeting.
Town ordinance sets a maximum cut of fill height of 10 feet, Town Development Services Director John Wesley said. The owner of the property at 15656 E. Centipede Rd. requested an SUP for a new house design that exceeds that limit near 20 feet.
The slope of the property exceeds 27%, and the owner of the property has maximized the driveway slope down to lower the house as much as possible, Weesley detailed. The proposed house will feature a lower-level garage with an access area and require three retaining walls to build up the area.
