The Fountain Hills Town Council has approved an amendment to an existing agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates to complete the design phase of a widening project on Shea Boulevard through Fountain Hills.
The council voted unanimously to approve $99,891.39 to complete the project design.
The Shea Boulevard widening project has been part of the Maricopa Association of Governments Arterial Life Cycle Program which is partially funded through the county half-cent transportation sales tax. The work would be done in Fountain Hills with a grant of approximately $1.8 million, 70% of the total cost. The town is responsible for funding the remainder.
