Fountain Hills town council approves grant agreement

Funding assist for design of downtown improvements

Fountain Hills Town Council gave unanimous approval for a project agreement with the Maricopa Association Governments (MAG) for a grant to fund initial design efforts for improvements in the downtown.

Town staff applied in October 2024 for Fiscal Year 2025 closeout funds from MAG. The proposed project is for sidewalk gap elimination and lighting improvements in the downtown area, specifically Verde River Drive and Parkview Avenue corridors. The town is being awarded $100,000 for which the town is responsible for 5.7% match ($5,690).

The project will produce a concept design showing two alternatives in select areas, ADA compliant design, lighting recommendations for intersections and pathways, public outreach and stakeholder engagement and a 15% level cost estimate.
