Group outlines funding use past and future

Fountain Hills Town Council has approved an amendment to its memorandum of understanding with the Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth Coalition, making the group the recipient of opioid settlement money for an additional two years.

Town Finance Director Paul Soldinger said it is estimated the town will receive about $62,000 in money from the settlement over the next two years, the term of the updated agreement.

To date the town has distributed $135,346 in settlement funds to the Coalition for its use in substance abuse prevention programs.
