Fountain Hills Town Council approves vaccine resolution

Passes on split 4-3 vote

A divided Town Council approved a resolution that prohibits the council from making future public health mandates, specifically the wearing of protective masks or requiring vaccinations.

Councilman Allen Skillicorn requested the resolution to be modeled on one passed by the Town of Queen Creek council in September. Skillicorn said those decisions regarding one’s health should be considered personal decisions dictated by an individual’s preferences.

“The resolution will proactively prevent the Town of Fountain Hills from forcing mask mandates, business closures, vaccination requirements or curfews on residents or employees,” Skillicorn said in a statement.
