Fountain Hills Town Council discusses fee structure

For use of Community Center, other facilities

The Town of Fountain Hills is the site for hundreds of special events and activities every year, and the town collects fees for the use of its facilities such as the Community Center.

At a budget retreat session on Feb. 24, town staff was seeking direction from the Town Council regarding the user fees charged.

Community Services Director Kevin Snipes told the council that the Community Center was never meant to be a profit center. He said the facility recovered about 19% of operating costs from fees last year, and staff wanted the council’s input on options to improve that.
