Replacement of field lights at Golden Eagle Park was a big-ticket item in the town’s capital improvement budget for the current fiscal year.
In a staff report Oct. 14, Interim Community Services Director Kevin Snipes told the council the project was completed under budget. With $1.4 million budgeted, the work was finished at a cost of $1,380,275, or $19,725 under budget.
Snipes provided an update on other ongoing projects including a multi-year improvement effort at Desert Vista Park. That work includes a shade structure donated by the local American Legion, and it has been installed. A concrete floor has been poured under the structure and eventually outdoor-rated fitness equipment will be installed.
