At its regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 2, Fountain Hills Town Council gave staff the green light to proceed with an estimated $5 million in street pavement management projects over the coming fiscal year.
The presentation to council included an overview of the evaluation process conducted by Roadway Asset Services (RAS) to determine pavement and base conditions for making recommendations for priority work. RAS Senior Vice President Zac Thomason reviewed for the council highlights of the pavement analysis conducted in 2023 and updated current conditions based on work completed since that analysis.
Town Public Works Director Justin Weldy told the council that it is time for programmed crack fill and preservative seal treatment on projects completed between 2016 and 2018. This work will be conducted in the northeast area of town within the area bounded by Golden Eagle, Glenbrook and Palisades boulevards and the town boundaries with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and the state trust land.
