Fountain Hills Town Council majority fighting for tax conformity

Regarding State Bill 1106

The Fountain Hills Town Council majority directed Town Manager Rachael Goodwin to write a letter of conformity to Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs in relation to federal tax conformity as the tax deadline approaches in April.

Arizona Senate Bill 1106 was a legislative proposal during the 2026 session that sought to align the state’s individual income tax code with recent changes in the federal code as part of President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed the bill on Jan. 16, creating noncompliance with the federal level.
