Fountain Hills Town Council, museum hammer out new lease agreement

Short-term solution for long-term success

Members of the Fountain Hills Town Council unanimously approved a new lease agreement with the River of Time Museum and Exploration Center during its special session on Tuesday, June 30.

As the museum’s current 25-year contract with the town is set to expire on Aug. 15, the new 10.5-month agreement, which takes effect Aug. 16, allows the museum to continue operations while both parties work toward a long-term solution.

The agreement is good through June 30, 2027, and the museum will pay $1,000 per month in rent ($1,500 in September) while providing additional public benefits such as free admission days, free programming and completion of a third-party economic impact analysis.
