Fountain Hills Town Council OKs new fire department truck

Replacing one purchased over a decade ago

The fire department will is projecting to receive both replacement trucks in 2026.

The Fountain Hills Town Council approved spending for the fire department to purchase a second truck during its meeting on Tuesday, May 5.

Town Fire Department Chief Dave Ott said the initial plan was to replace a brush truck in fiscal year 2026 and 2027 after initially purchasing two in 2012 and 2013. He added that both meet the requirements to be replaced.

“They’re over 10 years old … I think we’ve stretched the lifespan of those trucks out as far as we can,” Ott said.
