Fountain Hills Town Council OKs permit for window assembly business

Currently operating without permit

The Fountain Hills Town Council voted unanimously to approve a Special Use Permit for a window company located at 16939 E. Colony Drive during its meeting on March 17.

The permit approves VIP Smart Windows, the applicant who’s located in Suite 4 in the commercial district and zoned C-3, for light assembly and storage that occupies less than 50% of the enclosed building and no hazardous materials.

Councilmember Rick Watts inquired about the use of hazardous materials with the assembly of glass and, from photos presented to the council, the lack of fire protection sprinklers in the ceiling.
