A long list of residential and surface streets that had not received treatment in over a decade was presented before the Fountain Hills Town Council during its meeting on Feb. 3, with emphasis the council prioritized reconstruction for 2027.
Town Public Works Director Justin Weldy said he detailed a map of roads not seeing treatment before the mayor and council during a meeting in September 2025. The list of 21 roads north of Palisades Boulevard, east of Golden Eagle Boulevard south of McDowell Mountain Road and west of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation were not selected by the BOSS system for work that would have been completed in 2015-16, Weldy said.
After direction from the council, Weldy said town staff visited the various locations and reported portions of roads had not received any treatment due to budget shortfalls. He added that staff have compiled an estimate for work and gave the council a “strong recommendation” to place it as the first thing on the agenda once the budget is approved for Fiscal Year 2027, after July 1, 2026.
