Fountain Hills under hazardous weather alert

Increased dust, heat

The Town of Fountain Hills and parts of the Valley are in a hazardous weather alert with poor air quality and heat, according to The National Weather Service. Lingering dust from a haboob late Monday night has remained, leaving poor visibility and an increase in potential health risks for sensitive groups.

The town has an air quality index of 171, according to Accuweather, meaning some may experience throat, irritation or breathing difficulties. Mixed with a heat bubble the Valley has faced over the weekend, it is recommended to limit outdoor activities.
