Fountain Hills Vietnam veterans honored

The Fountain Hills American Legion celebrated Vietnam veterans recently.

The group celebrated the servicemembers on March 29 as part of Vietnam Veterans Day with a breakfast and a cake, according to a press release.

Vietnam Veterans Day was originally proclaimed by then-President Barack Obama on March 29, 2012. The day falls on March 29 every year because March 29, 1973 was the day where the last U.S. combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam.
