Fountain Hills volleyball snagged the 18th seed and a road play-in spot with the opportunity to reach the postseason for the third consecutive year. However, the Falcons (21-17) fell 3-0 to the 15th-seed Tempe Prep Knights, ending their season.
“It was what we call a rebuilding year with having graduated 11 seniors over the last two years and this year having a team with six of 12 players being sophomores,” head coach Olivia Long wrote in an email. “The girls have so much talent and I know in the coming seasons they’re going to thrive having had the experience this season under their belt.”
The Falcons were able to win the silver bracket of the Florence Tournament and upset No.6 Scottsdale Prep late in the season while remaining in the top 20.
