The Fountain Hills High School baseball team won the Battle of the Beeline with an 8-2 victory over Payson on Monday, March 4.
The win over the Longhorns came off the back of the Phoenix Country Day School Desert Classic weekend tournament where the Falcons went 2-1-1. Seniors Tyler Langer and Nathan Hughes hit home runs in the 26-0 win over Mayer, and junior Zion Sidhu homered in the 1-1 tie against Pima.
“Not as good as we wanted, but we also had Valley Christian on Wednesday and this Payson game on Monday, so we had to kind of use a lot of pitchers, but they all actually did well,” Head Coach Bob Langer said. “We didn’t hit the ball the way we needed to, and we kind of got out of that in this game at Payson.”
