A group of 20 Fountain Hills women shopped for a family of seven who were in the adopt-a-family program for the Holiday Surprises program at Children’s Cancer Network (CCN).
Mary Kay Flynn and Judy Crosby coordinated the event that culminated in a festive wrapping party at Crosby’s house on Nov. 15.
Crosby and Flynn thanked the following women who helped shop and wrap all the presents: Judy Conrad, Kathy Dietz, Virginia De Kat, Gloria Hachikian, Sheila Hagan, Stephanie Harris, Cherie Hitchcock, Trisha Karis, Linda Kester, Shelly Knerr, Vicki Martin, Kristie Moe, Debbie Murray, Connie Purinton, Mary Lynn Rector, Kathy Rubin, Nancy Stevens, Linda Tornabene, Maria Wagaman and Pat Zientek.

A group of 20 Fountain Hills women shopped for a family of seven who were in the adopt-a-family program for the Holiday Surprises program at Children’s Cancer Network (CCN).

The families in the adopt-a-family program are chosen by the social workers in the four Arizona hospitals that have pediatric oncology patients, a press release read.
The families not only get Christmas presents but also a decorated tree, food and gas cards, basic needs bin and a pasta food basket.
The second volunteer event in which Fountain Hills women participated in the adopt-a-family program for the CCN Holiday Surprises program was decorating Christmas trees on Dec. 5.
Participating in the decorating event in Chandler, where CCN is located were Judy Conrad, Judy Crosby, Mary Kay Flynn, Gloria Hachikian, Cherie Hitchcock, Laurie Johnstone, Karen Kapinos, Allison Lindsay, Vicki Martin, Pam Reinmuth, Nancy Safinick, Katie Scheele, Sue Sveum and Maria Wagaman.
A distribution party was held Dec. 9.
Children’s Cancer Network is a 501c(3) non-profit organization in Arizona that supports children and families throughout their cancer journey with programs and services that provide financial assistance, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles and create awareness of issues they face related to childhood cancer.
