Fountain Hills Women’s Club fundraiser a success

Boots and Bangles” nets more than $21,000

More than 200 guests turned out to lend their support and enjoy the country-western-themed “Boots and Bangles” fundraiser in the ballroom at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.

Complete with lunch, auction, 50/50 cash raffle and line dancing to country music, the Fountain Hills Women’s Club scholarship fund netted more than $21,000 in support of women age 23 or older who live or work in the community.

Those proceeds will be awarded to this year’s scholarship recipients at the Women’s Club end-of-year luncheon meeting Wednesday, May 21.

Dance instructor Pam Vaccaro led the line dancers and KC & The Moonshine Band kept the energy going throughout the day. “Arizona’s Singing Cowboy” Gary Sprague interjected a solo appearance during the band’s intermission and DJ Jason O’Neal spun a country playlist. Guests also had a chance to peruse the Western fashions displayed by Beauty Box Boutique.

Thanks go to event emcee Betsy LaVoie, CEO of the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce and Scott Schlossberg of Farmers Insurance, who served as the live auctioneer.

Additional thanks go to the event sponsors, advertisers and auction item donors, who lent support.

Stay tuned for details about next year’s event, which – by popular demand – promises to be “Back to Boots and Bangles.”
