Not every classroom lesson happens at a desk. For a growing number of Fountain Hills students, some of the most meaningful learning takes place under stage lights, where youth theater programs are helping kids and teens find their voices and build confidence.
For Paige Beckman, known throughout town as Miss Paige, the appeal of theater begins with accessibility. Beckman is the owner and artistic director of Paige Productions Youth Theater, which she founded with busy families in mind.
“Five years ago, I set out to create a theater program that would be less demanding for students and families,” Beckman said. “I wanted kids to perform more, rehearse less, and still put on amazing, fully produced shows.”
