Fountain view

The mayor of Fountain Hills has run unopposed in every election she has won. It isn’t because Kavanagh is so good at representing the values and issues of the people. Kavanagh has always counted on the gullibility of voters.

She has preached about needing a property tax, yet continually spends exorbitant amounts of money on studies. She said the Fountain no longer runs because property owners in the area don’t like the wind blowing the water on their windows.

I’m sorry, but the Fountain was here long before those individuals bought their property. If this were the real reason for the continued shutdown of the Fountain, what does she think property owners will say about a lagoon?

My family has owned one of the condos on the south side of the Fountain for over 12 years. We paid a premium for this rental unit because of its close proximity to the Fountain. If the wind blows, all the windows are sprayed with water. This has had a positive effect on the return of our investment. Renters pay premium dollars for our unit with a view of the Fountain.

I didn’t need a $40,000 study to prove this fact before I bought this property. Neither do the builders of the new apartments on Avenue of the Fountain. As stated in the July 26 edition of this paper, they will be charging more for apartments that have a “Fountain view.”

When the big bosses of the local Republican Tea Party start complaining about Kavanagh’s ridiculous and costly proposals, you know the end must be near. It is time to take back our city and our state from political hacks that pretend to represent the voters. Just say no to the lagoon and a community pool. Turn on the Fountain, Kavanagh.
