Fountain View Village residents form veterans group

Focus on educating people about military

A few years ago, Bruce Frobes, George Wilen and Ben Budsowski had an idea to organize and recognize the U.S. military veterans who reside at Fountain View Village (FVV) in Fountain Hills.

Frobes, Wilen and Budsowski are all U.S. Air Force veterans who served during the Cold War era of the 1950s,  early 1960s. With nearly 50 military veterans residing at the independent and assisted living facility in Fountain Hills the group decided to organize monthly meetings and presentations by veterans and other armed forces related agencies.

“When we first started we were looking for a way to contribute to patriotism,” Frobes said. “These are stories that should be told, and we wanted to let residents know them.”
