Four Peaks Rotary Golf Benefit is March 19

One of Fountain Hills’ largest charitable activities is fast approaching as the 20th Annual Four Peaks Rotary Golf Benefit is set for Monday, March 19.

Last year, more than $25,000 was raised by the event which directly promotes such programs as Fountain Hills High School scholarships, the local Boys & Girls Club, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Posse, the local Splash Park, the Community Musical Park, numerous Rotary youth exchange and leadership programs, and Extended Hands Food Bank.

The upcoming benefit is a shotgun golf event with a noon start time at Ancala Country Club, 11800 E. Via Linda in Scottsdale. The $145 entry fee per golfer includes a gift package for participants, men’s and women’s “longest drive” and “closest to the pin” contests, team and individual prizes and a celebration banquet highlighted with a live auction featuring dozens of donated, high-profile gifts and packages.

“This is truly one of the premier charity events in the area,” said Jeff Poynter, Four Peaks Rotary’s golf chairperson. “For twenty years, our club has worked hard to raise money for Fountain Hills and we’re looking forward to this year’s program being the best yet.”

Club President-Elect Scott Schollsberg also pointed out that the event should be fun for all comers, regardless of skill on the course. The important thing is that funds are being raised to benefit local charities and organizations.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re a golfer or not,” Schollsbarg said. “This event really is a tremendous experience for those who are looking forward to having a great time and contributing to our community. It’s a win-win for both the town and for the charities that the event sponsors.”

Registration and donor sponsorships are still available for the event, which expects to draw nearly 200 participants across golf and the banquet. For more information, visit fourpeaksgolf.com or call Jeff Poynter at 480-440-2001.

The event will also play host to a “Wheel of Fortune” charity raffle, though participants do not have to attend the golf outing to win. Payouts range from $50 to $1,000, depending on the spin. A total of 10 tickets will be drawn for a spin and, if the winner is not present, a club member will spin for them. Tickets are $5 each, three for $10 or six for $20. For more information on the raffle, contact Greg Golucci at 480-612-1671.
