Frank Salvatore Ferrara, 80, of Fountain Hills passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at MorningStar Care Facility.

Frank had a 30-year career with the Department of Defense, retiring in 1993 as deputy director of foreign military sales. He and wife, Jan, moved to Fountain Hills in 1993 and Frank immediately became involved in town activities and the Chamber of Commerce.

He successfully ran the Chamber for 18 years, retiring in January 2015. Frank bravely fought a debilitating diagnosis for the past two-and-a-half years.

Frank and Jan were married 54 years, enjoyed travel, cruising and each other’s company.

He was devoted to his wife, children Lisa, William and Betina, Frank Michael and grandchildren Tia and Rocco. Many nieces and nephews loved Frank as their father and he in turn loved them equally.

Frank never met a stranger and counted everyone as a friend. His many good friends will miss him dearly.

Frank filled our world with joy, laughter, hugs and love. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Ascension with luncheon and celebration following in the church hall.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff at MorningStar Memory Care for their kindness and loving care of our beloved Frank.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
