“Friday Night Lights” has reached an all new level in Fountain Hills! Friday Night Lights is the “program around the program” of the Fountain Hills High School Friday night home football games. There is the football game...and then there is the band, and the cheerleaders, and the all-new remarkable synthetic turf!
But one of the greatest stories is what has been occurring around the football game.
For the first home football game, if we won...which we did, Phil’s Filling Station Grille handed out 1,000 vouchers for $20 of free food and/or drinks at the restaurant for a period of six days after the victory! This amazingly generous offer was provided by Phil Rodakis, a 17-year restaurant owner in Fountain Hills! It was so wonderful to see 100 additional customers every day at Phil’s restaurant for those six days! The students, parents, teachers and residents each had a remarkable meal up to $20, all compliments of Phil.

For the second home football game, Juan Gonzalez, Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce 2013 Business Person of the Year, graciously handed out 335 coupons to our Fountain Hills High School juniors and seniors for a $2 full “value meal” at Senor Taco. This coupon was good for lunch during the student lunch period last Friday as a precursor to the game that evening.
In addition, Juan allowed the FHHS Key Club to decorate his restaurant in Falcons memorabilia. Reilly Milligan, president of Key Club, led a group of student decorators consisting of Johnny Rodakis, Carly Montanez and Amanda Barbagallo. Stop in the Fountain Hills Blvd. Senor Taco store to observe these decorations since they will remain up for an extended period.
We can’t thank all of these individuals enough for supporting our “Friday Night Lights” program and look forward to additional good things with our three remaining football home games!
