From blankets to bluegrass, Third Thursday concerts strike a chord in Fountain Hills

As the sun dips behind Centennial Pavilion, lawn chairs unfold, blankets spread and neighbors settle in for live music at the center of downtown Fountain Hills. What began as a new experiment last fall has quickly become a familiar midweek gathering, as the Town of Fountain Hills’ Third Thursday Concert Series continues to draw a growing audience.

The free concerts, held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month through April, launched last November.

“The concert series started as a way to activate downtown Fountain Hills and Centennial Pavilion,” said Amanda Jacobs, Economic Development director for the Town of Fountain Hills.
