Front yard patio cover approved by Fountain Hills Town Council

Creates ‘neighborly’ neighborhood

The Council commended the old-fashioned concept for a social space.

The Fountain Hills Town Council gave the greenlight for a front yard patio cover during its meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The property owner at 17114 E. Fairway Court proposed a front yard patio cover for better use of their front yard and social space. The proposed area covered would be 827 square feet and extends about 6 feet from the property line, town Development Services Director John Wesley detailed.

The Town approved an amendment that would allow consideration of patio covers about 18 months ago, Wesley added. Specific criteria of max height no greater than 12 feet, must be at least 80% open and may not be used for storage of parking must be met to be approved.
