All I can say, if you missed the fundraiser for the Fountain Hills Theater on Sunday, Nov. 30, at Gunsight Pass….too bad for you.
What fun we all had at Gunsight, built by David Smith and friends as a replica of the Old West and Tombstone. Everything was perfect, including the weather, and a good time was had by all.
As mayor for the event, I met the buses bringing the guests out courtesy of Fountain View Village and a lot of the actors gave up their day to help.

We had “Big Nose Kate” prostitute and girlfriend of Doc Holiday, played by Heidi Carpenter and John Henry, “Doc Holiday,” played by Chris Fidler. Ben Thompson “Gambler and Town Drunk,” played by Patrick Russo, “Annie Oakley,” played by Lizz Reeves Fidler, Marshall Bill Tilghman, played by Matt Mcdonald, “Madame Dora DuFran,” played by Dyana Carroll, “Carry Nation” played by Stephani Mcdonald and the Reverend Endicott Peabody played by Tom Vinopal to name a few. Kept looking for Wyatt Earp, but maybe next year.
There was food supplied by The Grille at Eagle Mountain, wine and beer, a great band called Kniffin Project and everyone was smiling.
We have the best little theater in the Valley and we need to support it in any way we can. We need the theater to feed our souls and help us get through our daily lives.
Next up is a completely new “Broadway in the Hills” that we are working on set for March 29, 2015. Save the date.
