We very much enjoyed the Basant Mela kite festival held at Fountain Park on March 7. What better way to welcome the spring than to spend a sunny day outdoors as the wind comes up and a bright blue sky is filled with colorful kites.
The Pakistan Information and Cultural Organization (PICO) did a good job organizing the event, and we appreciated the opportunity to meet and chat with many Phoenix-area residents of Indian or Pakistani background.
The ethnic food was delicious, the handicraft booths interesting.

We hope that PICO will continue hosting this delightful seasonal celebration at Fountain Park year after year.
