Fundraiser to help Cindy

A special fundraiser is being held Sunday, March 22, to help Cindy Stewart with her medical bills as she fights stage four breast cancer.

It will be held from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Sofrita restaurant on Avenue of the Fountains.

Musical entertainment will include Billy Cioffi and the Monte Carlos, The Kniffin Project and others.

For donations or to give auction items, contact friend Tammie Harrison at cindycancerfundraiser@gmail.com.

“Cindy is a humble and unassuming, a radiant light in the lives of so many,” Tammie said. “Her smile and charisma instantly draw in people everywhere she goes.”

But now she’s in for the fight of her life. Her journey has come to a crossroads where she is leaving traditional medicine behind and seeking a natural approach to healing.

And because of previous heart conditions, chemo was not an option for her.

She has been profoundly inspired by author Kris Carr, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and today keeps her cancer under control by living a vegan lifestyle

“Cindy recently began naturopathic treatment for her cancer, and as a result has renewed faith in her ongoing search to beat the odds, cure herself and prove the medical doctors wrong,” Tammie said.

Unfortunately, this treatment is expensive and little, if any, is covered by medical insurance.

So her Fountain Hills “family and friends” are organizing Sunday’s fundraiser.

If one can’t make the event, there are still opportunities to help out.

If you have a meal at Sofrita Friday, March 20, through Sunday, March 22, and mention you’re there to help Cindy Stewart, the restaurant will donate 10 percent to Cindy.

“No donation is too small, every dollar adds up,” Tammie said.
