Fountain Hills VFW Post 7507 holds three major fundraisers a year and receives lots of support from the community. I would like to thank everyone for that support.

The post has two of these fundraising events next month. Sometimes we also have minor fundraisers. All post members and I will be appreciative of your participation in one or more of the fundraisers.

The post will host a beer garden where freshly cooked brats, hot dogs and chili as well as beer, soft drinks, water, wine and cocktails can be purchased at reasonable prices during the upcoming Fountain Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts (Nov. 9-11). Live music will be available during most of the operating hours. A great way to support veterans is by relaxing in sun or shade and enjoying music while eating and drinking.

The VFW Beer Gardens are the only places in the fair area offering live music. All workers (including musicians, waitresses, cooks, bartenders, etc.) are volunteers and all profits go to support veterans and veterans’ charities.

The Ralph Truax Memorial VFW Golf Tournament on Nov. 17 is another way to have fun while supporting veterans. Openings for golfers and sponsors are still available. More details can be obtained by calling the Post at 480-836-5520 or visiting VFWpost7507golf.com.

Two weeks ago Papa Murphy’s Pizza held a fundraising function for the post. A share of that day’s profits went to support VFW Post 7507. We are grateful for the support received from many residents who bought pizzas and to Papa Murphy’s for their donation, which allows the post to better support veterans and our Fountain Hills community. It was a successful event.

Thanks in advance for your support at the beer garden and at the Ralph Truax Memorial VFW Golf Tournament.
