The National Weather Service has confirmed two funnel clouds formed over the Fountain Hills area at about noon on Tuesday, March 12, as a storm passed over the area.
There were photos posted to web sites and on Facebook of the funnel clouds, which apparently did not touch down. They were reported over or just south of Fountain Hills near SR87, Beeline Highway.
The Times received a photo from Charles Greenacre that was taken Shea Boulevard and 124th Street in Scottsdale.

Funnel cloud spotted over Fountain Hills

The National Weather Service has confirmed two funnel clouds formed over the Fountain Hills area at about noon on Tuesday, March 12, as a storm passed over the area.
There were photos posted to web sites and on Facebook of the funnel clouds, which apparently did not touch down. They were reported over or just south of Fountain Hills near SR87, Beeline Highway.
The Times received a photo from Charles Greenacre that was taken Shea Boulevard and 124th Street in Scottsdale.
Fountain Hills received a half to three quarters of an inch of rain for the day. Storm total over two days was near one inch.
