Elected leaders must think ahead of the curve and should be futurists who take society to that place where we should be headed. I look for that quality when I vote.
Elected leaders show courage in their convictions and stand up to bullies who try to hold back others and civilization’s progress. I look for that quality when I vote.
In mayoral candidate Ginny Dickey, I see those qualities.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio recently was tried, convicted and pardoned for making illegal, racially profiled immigrant sweeps. Ginny Dickey, ahead of the curve, protested his actions on a street corner in Fountain Hills where, across the street, the Sheriff and Steven Seagal were conducting practice school-terrorism drills.
Ginny Dickey protested Arpaio’s actions at a town council meeting and as vice mayor in 2008. Ginny Dickey wrote to advise Rush Limbaugh’s advertisers on local station KTAR in 2012 to distance themselves from Limbaugh, who specializes in fake news and roiling listeners over issues such as Arpaio’s immigration sweeps.
She’s unafraid to speak the truth. Ginny Dickey is a leader ahead of the curve. She deserves our vote as mayor, for she will lead us in the direction Fountain Hills should be headed. Ginny cares about people and shares our hometown values. She voted fiscally responsibly as a school board member, town council member and vice mayor. She would never have voted for the lagoon or even the lagoon study.
